I am passionate about increasing access to treatment for marginalised groups in society, and using my knowledge and skills to support and campaign for wider social change. I am neurodiversity affirmative, LGBTQ+ friendly, and take an anti-oppressive and anti-racist stance. I welcome suggestions to make my practice inclusive and accessible.
Outside of the therapy room I love spending time with my favourite people and animals, exploring new places, and listening to music and podcasts.
I studied Psychology at undergraduate level at Newcastle University, before completing Doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at the University of Leeds, and eventually moving back to the North-East of England. I continue to engage in regular training and development to ensure my knowledge and understanding remains current.
I am registered with and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Psychologist. I have an enhanced DBS certificate.
I have worked with people with mental health difficulties for 9 years across a wide variety of settings and clinical populations. My particular interest is in neurodiversity, complex trauma, and identity or relationship difficulties. However, I have experience working with a wide variety of presentations and mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, 'personality disorder', psychosis, phobias, and substance use.
Alongside my private practice, I also work in the NHS.
